Socially Responsible Night Market
Socially responsible and environmentally conscious companies and student organizations were represented at the Socially Responsible Night Market. Students present at the event had the opportunity to learn more about these organizations, receive free organic food, and enter in a raffle for a recycled hat, upcycled skateboard, and recycled notebook. Several student groups (singers, Hipnotik) performed during the event as well.
Food Solutions Case Competition
Students formed teams of 3-4 people to innovate different solutions to help reduce the carbon footprint of various aspects of our food production. Student solutions were pitched to Net Impact headquarters.
Up to Us: MyTwoCentsDay
Hosted the My Two Cents Day, sponsored by the organization Up To Us, to raise awareness about the National Debt. Students received free donuts and coffee, and engaged in thought provoking discussion.
Net Impact Bay Area Conference
Sponsored 8 Net Impact members to attend the local Bay Area Net Impact Conference. Students attended various seminars, speaker panels, and interactive breakout sessions with various sustainable and socially responsible organizations.
Unilever Case Competition
Sent two teams of SCU students to the Unilever Case Competition, with one team placing in the final case competition in London.
Trader Joe's Grocery Delivery Fundraiser
Delivered groceries from Trader Joe's to on-campus students to increase knowledge of various sustainably sourced snacks and groceries.
